A LATE PERIOD BRONZE STATUE OF THE GODDESS NEITH
dynasty xxvi, 664-525 b.c.
Represented wearing an ankle-length, tightly-fitted sheath, accessorized with armlets and bracelets, and wearing a broad collar and Red Crown, her right arm held alongside the body, the hollow fisted hand once holding an attribute, on an integral base inscribed on three sides in faintly preserved hieroglyphic text reading "May the goddess Neith grant life to the [lady] [Amen]irdis.....whose father is...[and]...whose mother is the mistress of the house, Neith-iker..."
