A LURISTAN BRONZE RECLINING ZEBU
circa 9th-7th century b.c.
The naturalistic figure hollow cast, its four limbs folded beneath its body, its tail curled up on its back, with a large hump at the nape of its neck, the dewlap a mass of folds, the triangular head with short horns, its ears folded back, with large tear-shaped eyes, the nostrils and small mouth indicated
