SIX SYRIAN CYLINDER SEALS
circa early 2nd millennium b.c.
Five of haematite, one engraved with two figure and two rearing stags; one with a worshipper before a seated figure, with another standing figure facing an inverted bull, crossed stags in the field; one with a winged sun-disk over a stalk between two horizontal figures, with two small worshippers and a lion; one with two facing figures, one robed with an orb in his raised left hand, the other in a round cap, a guilloche with a figure with its arms raised, two lions above, two quadrupeds below as the terminal; one with a seated figure framed by two worshippers, a guilloche with a lion above and a griffin below as the terminal; and one of glazed frit with three worshippers facing two standing stags, two horizontal figures above
