A CHINESE POLYCHROME-LACQUERED CABINET ON A GILT-JAPANNED STAND
The cabinet 18th Century, the stand English, 19th Century
The top, back and sides decorated with pastoral scenes, birds and foliage, the door with three figures under a tree enclosing a fitted interior of five variously-sized drawers, each decorated with pastoral landscapes, the reverse of the door decorated with two women before a temple, the stand decorated with floral sprays, on square legs chamfered to the inner corners and decorated with gilt foliage, the underside of four drawers inscribed with a Chinese character, the sides with later carrying-handles
