Lot Essay

The vendor, a freelance journalist, interviewed Freleng in the early 1980s about his work as an animator and during lunch, in explaining his inspiration behind the characters of Bugs Bunny and the Pink Panther, Freleng sketched his characters in different poses, and then presented the sketches to the vendor. According to the vendor, Freleng described both his creations as "manic individualist characters who would have been firm friends", but, who together could have "destroyed the world".
