GARLAND, Judy; SINATRA, Frank, and GERSHWIN, Ira.
Souvenir menu inscribed and signed by the three above plus Sydney Luft. Printed menu, card stock, 4 pages, folio, Los Angeles, September 29, 1954. Some staining on the cover, presumably from greasy fingers at the meal, but very fine inside -- the inscriptions and signatures are strongly accomplished in blue ballpoint. The menu is entitled "Night of Stars Jack L Warner's Reception Honoring Judy Garland and the Stars of Warner Bros. 'A Star is Born'" The dinner took place at the famous Cocoanut Grove restaurant at the Ambassador Hotel. The inscriptions read as follows: "To Marty God Bless ... Tommy Noonan ps. With my dear friend Billie," to which old blue eyes adds "me too -- Frank Sinatra". Presumably he had an interest in Tommy's date. "To Marty with my love Juddy"; "To Marty Ira Gershwin", and the best for Marty Sid Luft." A very unusual and interesting association.
