[SCHWARZENEGGER, Arnold.]

Combat vest, camouflage shirt, and military web belt worn by Arnold Schwarzenegger in "Predator." The vest is quite extraordinary, in brown suede, with buckles, ties, pockets, and velcro straps. It's the vest Arnold wore in the hunt for the creature or rather the creature's hunt for him through the dense South American jungle. Schwarzenegger is shot by the alien (remember that incredible alien hunter) through the right shoulder, and the vest bears the holes there and the stains below from Arnold's streaming blood. Cool. Accompanying the lot is a signed orginal letter to our consignor, on 20th Century Fox stationery, Los Angeles, June 27, 1988, of Marilyn Vance-Straker, Costume designer on "Predator," in part: "You have in your possession a vest specifically designed for Arnold Schwarzenegger as "Dutch" in "PREDATOR". The vest is not a surplus item, it was designed for Arnold's body type and physical actions as the character "Dutch" in the film. As a matter of fact there is a double piece on the middle back of the vest which was originally designed to accomodate arrows for a crudely made bow. The design was not changed although the bows were never carried on his back in the film. The "T" shirt was in fact worn by Arnold ..." Finally, a color still from the film with Arnold wearing the vest and brandishing an M-16, is also included. (3)
