Lot Essay

The attribution has been confirmed to the present owner by Francesca Baldassari, who dates the sheet to circa 1650. Two comparable unpublished studies of the same subject and technique are in the Instituto Nazionale per la Grafica in Rome (inv. no. FC128736 and FC128758), and another, of a seated draped model, is in the Nasjonalgalleriet in Oslo (inv. no. B15120).
