lithograph, circa 1919-20, on light brown wove paper, with margins, mount-staining and foxing mainly in the margins, a crease in the lower right of subject, further minor creasing, one or two lines of surface abrasion, trimmed slightly unevenly at the lower right sheet edge

Lot Essay

The present lithograph was to be included in a portfolio of eleven 'Prouns' which was never published in this form. According to a letter Lissitzky wrote to Maurice van Essche in Anvers only a few handprinted proofs exist
