Auguste-Etienne-Francois Mayer (1805-1890)

Leconte de Floris, Saint-Cyrien and Captain of the Armée Impériale, was sent, along with other French officers, by Louis-Philippe, as envoys to Egypt to thank Mehmet Ali who had authorised the Obelisque to be brought to the Place de la Concorde, Paris, as part of an agreement.
