Lot Essay

Despite the difference in colour of the mahogany between the column and legs, the carving and construction appears to be consistent, with different types of wood being used.
The present pie-crust tripod table has similar design characteristics to one sold from the Moller Collection, Sotheby's London, 18 November 1993, lot 78.
