Lot Essay

A related dressing-table, executed in padouk, was sold in these Rooms, 19 November 1992, lot 69 (£9,350). This shape of desk seems to have been a speciality of Roger Vandercruse, called Lacroix, and the present piece may have been inspired by an example by him.
