Of Regency style, Late 19th 20th Century
The red leather-lined rectangular top with roundel and foliate edge, above a frieze with alternating triglyphs and roundels and with three mahogany-lined drawers to each side, on turned fluted legs with gadrooned bun feet

Lot Essay

The library table, designed in the classical manner inspired by the Doric Order of Vignola, has a patteraed frieze accompanied by flowered medallions instead of bucrania, while in place of dentils it is wreathed by a studded ribbon-guilloche in the fashion popularised by Thomas Hope's Household Furniture and Interior Decoration, London, 1807.
