Late 19th Century, bearing Nuremberg marks
On domed circular foot, repoussé, chased and applied with lizards, frogs, tortoise and shells, the stem formed as the trunk of a tree with branch surmounted by a figure of a parrot with detachable head and realistically chased plumage, with a small figure of an owl perched alongside, marked on bezel

Sir Julius Wernher, 1st Bt. (1850-1912), Bath House, London, no. 663, but not mentioned in the 1913 Bath House inventory, which skips from no. 662-665, by whom bequeathed, with a life interest to his widow, Alice, Lady Wernher, subsequently Lady Ludlow (1862-1945), to their son
