William WYCHERLEY (1640?-1716). The Country Wife: A comedy acted at the Theatre-Royal. London: T. Dring, sold by R. Bentley and S. Magnes, 1683. 4° (220 x 161mm). It was based on the Aulularia of Plautus, though Sir Gudgeon Credulous is also said to bear a resemblance to Fabian Fitzdottrell in Jonson's The Devil is an Ass. Wing W-2923. Together with 7 other plays by Payne, Aphra Behn (2), Cibber, John Crowne, Durfey and Otway.
