Contemporary straight-grained red morocco gilt by the Doves Bindery, dated '19C-S00', the boards with gilt double-fillet border enclosing cornerpieces of 3 clusters of 3 leaves each interspersed with circles, the spine gilt in 6 compartments, titled in 2 and dated at the foot, the turn-ins ruled in gilt and decorated at the corners with 3 triple-leaf clusters, gauffered gilt edges (extremities very lightly rubbed). Provenance: 'To Miss Warrack , in memory of Stella , from T.J. and A.C.S. , 25 July 1900' (calligraphic insription on front free endpaper).

A PRESENTATION COPY FROM T.J. AND ANNIE COBDEN-SANDERSON IN A DOVES BINDING. The inscription possibly refers to the Cobden-Sanderson's daughter, Stella.
