MORRIS, William (1834-1896). An Address delivered by William Morris at the Distribution of Prizes to Students of the Birmingham Municipal School of Art on Feb. 21, 1894. London: by The Chiswick Press for Longmans & Co., 1898. 8° (204 x 140mm). Contemporary straight-grained red morocco gilt by the Doves Bindery, dated '19C-S00', the boards with gilt double-fillet border enclosing cornerpieces of 3 clusters of 3 leaves each interspersed with circles, the spine gilt in 6 compartments, titled in 2 and dated at the foot, the turn-ins ruled in gilt and decorated at the corners with 3 triple-leaf clusters, gauffered gilt edges (extremities very lightly rubbed). Provenance: 'To Miss Warrack , in memory of Stella , from T.J. and A.C.S. , 25 July 1900' (calligraphic insription on front free endpaper).
