Lot Essay

It is worth comparing with the famille rose 'parrot' vase, which has a design often attributed to Pronk, and which was sold in these Rooms, 29 March 1982, lot 356, and illustrated by A. du Boulay, op.cit., p.263, fig.11. A gilt-bronze-mounted baluster vase with the same design as the present lot was sold in our Monaco Rooms, 17 June 1990, lot 158.
