A very similar but oval dish is illustrated by E. Gordon, op.cit., 1978, pl.71, p.83, although in this dish the tree on the left is replaced by rockwork and flowers. A dish and a tureen and cover from different services but with a mahout and elephant motif are illustrated by J.G. Phillips, op.cit., p.210, pl.107 and p.211, pl.108, where the author suggests they were made for the English colonial market in India.
