A carved oak press cupboard, North Country, early 17th century
the upper section with a whirl and foliate frieze with gouged edging, on bulbous column supports above a pair of rosette and guilloche filled recessed panels flanking a similar panel and with stiff leaf uprights, the lower section enclosed by a pair of triple panelled doors carved with arcades and lozenges, on channelled stile feet, the sides of the upper section with conforming carved detail, the sides of the lower section with four panels, re-backed and with some restoration -- 64in. (163cm.) wide, 65½in. (166cm.) high, 26½in. (67cm.) deep
