An Imari seven piece garniture
Late 17th Century
Comprising four vases and covers and three trumpet vases decorated in various coloured enamels and gilt on underglaze blue with eagles flying and perched on branches of chestnuts issuing from rocks with roundels of karashishi and dragons under the shoulders and hares above the foot, the shoulders with scrolling foliage within lappetts and the neck with cartouches of butterflies, the covers similarily decorated with a finial modelled as a karashishi on rockwork, some old damage and restoration
Approx. 24¾in. (63cm.) high and 16 3/8in. (41.5cm.) for the trumpet vases (7)
