A date from the 1750s has been suggested for this and the following drawing, lot 3.
The present drawing and the drawing in lot 3 were given by the Prinzessin Adelgunde von Bayern (1870-1958) to her lady in waiting, Anna von Werner, in 1943. Prinzessin von Bayern married the Fürst Wilhelm von Hohenzollern in 1915. They lived at the royal residence, 1-3 Karlstraße, Sigmaringen, which now houses the state archives.
