An Unusual 40-Bore Flintlock Box-Lock Side-Action Belt Pistol

With sighted fixed barrel engraved with a band of foliage at the muzzle and inlaid with a gold band at the breech, silver fore-sight, signed scroll engraved action with safety-catch (replaced) also locking the steel, rainproof pan, roller, steel-spring adjustable for tension, and 'French' cock (partly replaced), folding trigger, figured walnut butt (bruised), silver escutcheon, and later iron belt hook and ramrod, Birmingham proof marks
