Two gelatin silver prints, one warm-toned, 15 x 11½in., mounted on fawn card, each inscribed 'Daw' in pencil on verso.
The first, taken from the bowsprit, looking back down the length of the vessel. The second looking out from the starboard side of the vessel across loose pack-ice, a figure in the foreground.
The official Discovery expedition photographer was R.W. Skelton; Koettlitz, Bernacchi, Royds, Armitage, Shackleton and Ford also took photographs during the course of the expedition.
