Portrait of Lady Mary Robartes, seated three-quarter-length, in a grey dress with a blue mantle

The sitter was the daughter of Henry Booth, 1st Earl of Warrington (see lot 53) and married, in 1694, the Hon. Russell Robartes, second son of John, 1st Earl of Radnor. Her son Henry succeeded as the 3rd Earl of Radnor on the death of his elder brother Charles, 2nd Earl. Her daughter, Mary, married Thomas Hunt of Mollington Hall, Cheshire, in 1719, and their daugher Mary married Roger Wilbraham of Townsend, Nantwich, as his second wife in 1740.
