Alexander the Great and his physician Philip

The prototype by Lanfranco is in a private collection, and was formerly in the Doria collection, Genoa. It was painted in 1616 for Cardinal Alessandro Peretti Monalto as part of a series of eleven pictures depicting scenes from the life of Alexander the Great.
