Lot Essay

To be included in Dr. V. Manuth's forthcoming monograph on the artist. Dr. Manuth has written of the present work that: 'I have hardly any doubts that the painting is a fine and characteristic example of the artist's elegant interiors which he produced in the 1650s.' Dr. Manuth was judging only from a photograph and colour transparency, before the signature and date were fully recorded.
