Lot Essay

Initially attributed to Bonsi in full by Dr. Miklós Boskovits (loc. cit, dated c. 1365/70), for whose assistance we are very grateful, who linked it to a companion pinnacle now in the Art Museum, Princeton, New Jersey (bequest of Millard Meiss). Professor Boskovits now regards the attribution as uncertain, and will be publishing the work as 'close to Giovanni Bonsi' in the forthcoming catalogue of the Offner Corpus.

We are also grateful to Everett Fahy for his assistance in cataloguing this lot.
