The published Naval General Service Medal rolls confirm Hugh McQuin as an Ordinary Seaman, Able Seaman and Quarter-Gunner aboard the Diadem for all three actions, one of just 97 recipients of the former clasp recorded on the Admiralty roll for Admiral Hotham's action against the French Fleet on 14.3.1795.
