Lot Essay

Gunner John George Muddle was killed in action at the Battle of Jutland on 31.5.1916, whilst serving aboard the Battle Cruiser H.M.S. Indefatigable. A copied paper cutting that accompanies the Lot states that Muddle was 38 years of age at the time of his death and that he had already been wounded on three occasions.
