Lot Essay

Private James Hallett was born in Morlock, Somerset and enlisted in the Rifle Brigade in April 1854, aged 17 years. In addition to his services before Sebastopol, he was present in the Lucknow operations during the Indian Mutiny. Hallett was discharged in June 1875.
