Lot Essay

Captain Arthur Loftus Tottenham was commissioned into the Rifle Brigade as a 2nd Lieutenant in December 1854, served with his Regiment in the operations before Sebastopol and was advanced to Lieutenant in March 1855. Tottenham retired with the rank of Captain in September 1861 and is believed to have died in New York in December 1887.
