Lot Essay

Corporal Alfred J. Donn, a pre-War Regular who had enlisted in September 1899, first entered the French Theatre of War on 10.9.1914, as a Private in the 3rd Battalion, Rifle Brigade. He was subsequently discharged as a result of wounds in March 1917 (Silver War Badge records refer).
