Lot Essay

2nd Lieutenant Adam M. Penman originally entered the French Theatre of War as a Private in the Fife and Forfar Yeomanry in September 1915, transferred to the K.O.S.B. as an N.C.O. and was commissioned into the 9th Battalion, Rifle Brigade in October 1917. Penman was subsequently wounded on 23.3.1918, when the Battalion was attacked at Flave le Martel.
