Designed by Pininfarina and built by Scaglietti, these exquisite cars earned their reputation as superb driver's cars. Mid-engined with a flexible power unit, an uncomplicated chassis, independent suspension and a comfortable driver's cockpit, they proved to be quick, maneuverable cars that are still a joy to drive. The Pininfarina styling has lasted over 30 years and both the GT and GTS Dinos are still hugely admired by Ferrari enthusiasts.
This is a 1973 model that was first sold on 4 March 1974 to a Dr. J. Coates of Tulsa, Oklahoma who kept it until March 1997, during which long term ownership it traveled just 4,586 miles. There is a copy letter on file confirming this history. The recorded mileage now is just 4,660 thereby making this example surely one of the most low mileage Dinos in existence. The car has silver paintwork with tan leather seats, a period radio and air conditioning. Invoices on file attest to some major service work undertaken during 1998 which included removing the engine and transmission prior to repairing the brakes and suspension. Together with the other service work, this totaled $11,500. All told this example would be an ideal contender in Ferrari club events either as a show car or as a good low mileage driver.
