Synonymous with a particular era of British sports car production, Austin-Healeys are firm favorites among the classic car fraternity. This example was exported from the factory to the USA in December 1962. Equipment fitted then included wire wheels, overdrive, heater, adjustable steering column, laminated windscreen and Road Speed tyres, all confirmed by the BMIHT certificate offered with the car.

The Healey has had a comprehensive and magnificent restoration to its current condition. The chassis was stripped, sand blasted to bare metal, primed, sealed and then repainted with three coats of Urethane paint. The bodywork was equally well prepared before being treated with a Chromabase base-coat, clearcoat two-stage paint, powerbuff and hand polish! All the chrome items have either been replated or replaced with new repro parts as necessary and the car has triple-plated bumpers/over-riders for longevity. The interior trim has correct leather faced front seats, Wilton wool carpeting, panel kit, Armacord trunk and a new Everflex top. The car stands on upgraded Dayton chrome/stainless 60 spoke wheels fitted with Michelin radial tyres.

The engine has also been totally rebuilt by a previous owner to the present vendor. This included fitting a new 3 piece clutch, new Falcon stainless exhaust system throughout, new ignition system and new hoses, cables, seals and gaskets. The carburetors have been rebuilt and the gearbox inspected, rinsed and re-sealed with new gaskets. The overdrive unit was also refreshed. A new fuel tank has been fitted with ancillary parts and the braking system has been all rebuilt, even including a new handbrake cable. Further work included a new wiring harness and rebuilt shock absorbers. In all, this is a complete and thorough restoration carried out to concours standards. All the work was correctly finished to factory standards (or better in our opinion) and colors and the Healey is offered with all bills and photographs of the restoration. We are delighted to recommend close inspection of the car.
