AN AFSHAR RUG, SOUTH PERSIA with an ivory field around a stepped medallion with vase pendants at each end containing flowerheads enclosing a central indigo panel, rust-red spandrels similar, in a brick-red stylised cross-motif linked border between brown rosette and cartouche linked and barber-pole stripes, circa 1900, tear at one end, areas of wear -- 5ft.4in. x 4ft.7in. (163cm. x 140cm.); and A KUBA RUG, SOUTH CAUCASUS with a shaded blue field containing columns of hooked medallions with similar motifs in an ivory turtle-palmette border between brown rosette, angular vine and barber-pole stripes, circa 1900, slight loss at each end, small tear -- 7ft.5in. x 3ft.8in. (226cm. x 112cm.) (2)
