A well presented and detailed 1:65 scale model of the armed vessel La Candelaria
modelled by A. Brandenburg with bound masts, yards, standing and running rigging, blocks, stitched linen sails with reefing points, hair rails, anchors with wooden stocks, catheads, bitts, belaying rails and pins, bell with canopy, capstans, gratings, well deck with turned brass mortars, shot racks, companionways, two ship's boats in chocks with bottom boards, thwarts and oars, helm, fire buckets, ten guns in stepped wooden carriages and other details. The hull, with rudder, main whale, boarding steps, chain plates and deadeyes with applied mouldings around stern and quarter galleries is finished in varnish and mounted on two turned wooden columns and display base within green baise-lined display case with an accompanying crab in cockle shell and suspended gilt cherub. Measurements overall -- 78 x 100cm.
