A TRAVELLING SHRINE, ZUSHI

The cylindrical form case lacquered on the exterior with two gold mon on the doors on a black lacquer ground, mounted on the exterior with bronze mounts incised with scrolling foliage, the interior with a gilt figure of Buddha standing on a lotus base raised on a tiered plinth, the hands raised before him, dressed in long draped robes, the face delicately painted, the hair arranged in tight curls surmounted by a domed ushnisha, all before a nimbus incised with circular form clouds
