A PIPE CASE, INRO AND A SMOKING SET

The long, cylindrical bone pipe holder carved as an arm, one end as a partially closed hand, the wrist carved with a bracelet pierced with holes for the cord, 75/8 in. (19.4 cm.) long; a stag antler and wood smoking set, the long pipe case carved in the form of an attenuated European figure wearing the characteristic brimmed hat into which slides the metal and bamboo pipe, the circular wood netsuke which serves as an ashtray attached to the case and a leather tobacco pouch, ivory figural ojime, the pipe case 9½ in. (24 cm.) long; a four case black lacquered tsuishu inro carved in high relief on each side with a sennin riding a mythical animal in shaped reserves bordered by swirling clouds, 35/8 in.
