AN ITALIAN RED MARBLE REDUCTION OF TRAJAN'S COLUMN

The column spirally-engraved with a war narrative with egg-and-dart quarter-circle molded top, surmounted by a square balustrade enclosing a molded cylindrical socle surmounted by a draped figure of St. Peter holding the keys to the city and a book, on a ribbon-bounded laurel and berry torus molded base and a square base set at each corner with an eagle, a square plinth decorated with military symbols and at the front with a panelled door surmounted by a plaque inscribed S P Q R/IMPERATORI CAESARIDIVI/NERVAE.F.TRAIANOAVGGER/DACICQPONTNAXTRIBPOT XVII IMP.VI.COS.VI., on a stepped base, with its original packing case.
