Maker's mark indistinct, Frisia, circa 1650
Trunk-shaped, on four ball supports with stepped rim, the front engraved with foliage and two ovals depicting a man and woman, with a silver-gilt cherub-shaped applied lock, the other three sides similarly decorated with allegorical figures symbolising Justice, Faith, Love and Hope, the cover with an engraved oval depicting a marriage scene and a silver-gilt shaped rectangular swing handle
