Meiji Period (late 19th Century), with signature Goto Hikaru and with kao [cursive monogram]
The slender inro cast and carved in low relief with a pair of cranes above a plum tree, the reverse with tortoises beneath a waterfall, the animals and details of the plants inlaid in gilt, traces of original finish; fitted with a lacquered ivory ojime with flowering grasses, and an ivory netsuke carved as Daruma stretching
