A FIVE-CASE LACQUER INRO**
Edo Period (19th Century), with signature Kajikawa saku and with red jar seal
Decorated in gold takamaki-e and hiramaki-e with a continuous scene of young pines, spring flowers and hills in mist, the hills and clouds accented by gold kirigane, the ground dusted with kinpun and the distant sky in fundame, the interior decorated in nashiji; fitted with a goldstone bead ojime and an ivory manju netsuke with a Shojo carved in high relief kneeling before a sake jar reading, the reverse with a sake cup and dipper carved in sunken relief and stained black
