Edo Period (19th Century), with signature Toyo Tomotada and with kao [cursive monogram] and with inscription Hoppo hitsu [Kono Bairei]
The slender inro decorated in red and black sumi-e togidashi on a fundame ground with a crow on the trunk of a willow, the sun setting in the distance, the reverse with a pheasant perched in a pine bough silhouetted by the full moon, the interior lacquered in nashiji; fitted with a glass bead ojime and a wood netsuke modelled as Fukurokuju
