A Russet and Celadon Jade Water Coupe
17th Century
Well carved as a gnarled and irregular section of a prunus tree, with blossoming branches carved around the sides and base, and with a chilong at one end; together with a small white jade brushwasher, 17th/18th century, carved in the form of a recumbent goose grasping a millet stalk in its beak, its legs incised on the flat base
6½ and 3in. (16.5 and 7.6cm.) long, wood stand and two wood covers for the water coupe (2)
