Lot Essay

An unattributed drawing in the Bibliothèque nationale, Le Cabinet d'Estampes, depicts a design of a candelabra with a youth standing on a nearly identical base (H. Ottomeyer, P. Pröschel, et. al., Vergoldete Bronzen, Munich, 1986, p. 390, fig. 5.17.2).
