A German black and gilt japanned cabinet-on-stand, mid 18th century
Decorated overall with Chinese scenes of courtly figures in landscapes within foliate and strapwork borders, with shaped moulded pediment above two doors with conforming decoration to the reverse, concealing an interior fitted with six small drawers, one shelf and a further shaped shelf, on ebonised later stand with turned baluster legs and H-stretcher, lacking top finial to the cornice, previously the upper part of the interior decorated in red, now repainted in white, one shelf later, restorations
