A MATCHED PAIR OF GEORGE III STYLE CREAM-PAINTED SCONCES
One composition and late 19th century, the other painted wood and of a later date
Each in the form of a bracket with gadrooned, fluted and beaded top and scrolled acanthus support issuing three scrolled acanthus branches, each terminating in an acanthus collar, pierced and molded drip pan and fluted cup-shaped bobèche, surmounted by baluster-shaped vase, the whole suspended by two chains, joined by a ribbon-tied knot, with gadrooned band, the pendant ribbon set with a beaded oval lozenge, the older sconce redecorated
