A LOUIS XVI ORMOLU-MOUNTED TULIPWOOD, AMARANTH, AND PARQUETRY BUREAU A CYLINDRE

The rectangular superstructure with quarter veneered faux-panelled top within a three-quarter pierced gallery, the frieze with three drawers, above a cylinder opening to reveal an interior fitted with two open shelves, four drawers and a gilt-tooled green leather-lined writing surface, the sides each with a pull-out writing slide; the lower section with a central long drawer flanked on the left by a cupboard door enclosing a drawer fitted as a coffre-fort and on the right by two short drawers, inlaid overall with diamond parquetry, finished to the reverse, on square tapering legs headed with drapery and square sabots
