Lot Essay

This print is after the famous painting of Nelson's mistress, Lady Hamilton, painted by George Romney between 1782 and 1786. The painting now hangs at Kenwood, London, and is part of the Iveagh Bequest (J. Bryant, The Iveagh Bequest, Kenwood, Leicester, 1990, p.73) formed by Lord Iveagh (d. 1927) at the turn of the century.
